PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

In order to foster professional development, each team provides its associates and trainees with in-house training, giving regular updates on current legal issues and the firm’s deals and matters. The firm frequently holds team breakfasts and lunches as well as training sessions led by the firm’s lawyers or by external experts.

Lawyers and trainees are regularly invited to participate in multidisciplinary training sessions often led by external speakers.

WORKING GROUPS

In order to strengthen international relationships, associates are regularly invited to participate in training sessions and events led by the Best Friends firms throughout Europe.



Each year, a Best Friends firm (BonelliErede, De Brauw, Hengeler Mueller, Slaughter and May, Uria Menendez and Bredin Prat)  hosts and organizes the “Autumn School” in a major European city.  The two-day program brings together approximately 75 associates from the core Best Friends group and the larger group of independent firms in Asia, Africa, North America and South America. The Best Friends have established working groups by practice area as well as by region which include representatives from each of the firms.

Female associates are given the opportunity to participate in the Annual Women Leadership Program for senior associates sponsored by the OSR Juridische Opleidingen (OSR Legal Education) as well as Women’s Day which is organized by Hengeler Mueller.

In a more relaxed atmosphere, associates can participate to an annual Best Friends’ football tournament!
